How a bait station works
A bait station is a closed box with bait inside and small entry holes on its sides. A mouse goes in, feeds and leaves. You never handle loose bait, and children and pets have a harder time getting to it than to bait on a tray. That is why EPA rules sell consumer bait only inside stations.
The Corner Fit shape is square on one side, so the station sits flush in a corner or tight along a wall. That is where mice run, and it keeps the station out of the open floor.
Refillable or disposable
A refillable station stays where you set it. When the block is gone you pull the cartridge out of the bottom, click in a new block and slide it back. Over months that is the lower cost per piece.
A disposable station comes filled and sealed, with the bait visible through a clear cover. When it is empty the whole station goes in the trash. It suits one spot you want to treat once.

Caution
Before you set a station
- Read and follow the label of the product you buy before you open it.
- Put stations where children and pets cannot reach them, flat against a wall or behind an appliance.
- Keep unused stations and refill blocks in their closed package, away from food and pet food.
- Pick up dead mice with gloves and throw them away promptly, so a pet does not eat one.
Questions
Questions about d-CON mouse bait stations
How many d-CON bait stations do you need?
One for every spot with signs, not one for the whole house. House mice seldom travel far from their nest, and extension guidance places mouse stations no more than 12 feet apart along the walls where mice run.
Is a refillable d-CON station cheaper than a disposable one?
Over time, usually yes: you buy the station once and then only refill blocks. Compare the price per piece in the table on this page, since packs change price between our updates.
Can you use a d-CON Corner Fit station outdoors?
The description of the refillable station calls it weather-resistant for indoor or outdoor use. Where a station may go is set by its label, so read it before you place a station outside.
Why are d-CON baits sold only inside stations?
EPA rules allow consumer rodenticides only as ready-to-use bait stations with block or paste bait, to limit exposure of children and pets. Loose pellets are no longer permitted in consumer products. Our guide on EPA rules for mouse bait has the details.
